About Us
Centennial Montessori Academy is an Authentic Private Montessori School. Virtually all of our lead teachers (which we call a Directress or a Guide) hold the highest-level Montessori training diplomas, which they earned from the Association Montessori International. They are truly passionate Montessorians and professional teachers with numerous years of classroom experience.
Our Mission Statement
Our highest priority is the health and safety of the children, paralleled with a commitment to prepare peaceful and beautiful environments in which the students academically flourish and develop social graces, respecting one another and their environment.
Toddler Community
Our Toddler Community is a peaceful, spotlessly clean and loving dwelling where young children can move freely, explore and feel protected. “Since it is through movement that the will realizes itself, we should assist a child in his attempts to put his will into act.” Our Toddler room welcomes children as young as 14 months. Our Directress speaks with a soft tender voice; the daily pace is tranquil, and the decor replicates the warmth of a peaceful home. The Practical Life area assists the child in adapting to their environment. There are child-sized motives of interests for the children to carry out such work as, setting the table, pouring water, washing dishes, sewing and dressing frames. They are learning to care for themselves and their environments.
Our Guides give lessons every day on Grace and Courtesy and these lessons are role-played daily with the children. They are learning to be respectful of their classroom environment and of one another. We present our Montessori apparatus for the education of the senses in the Sensorial area. Heavy emphasis is placed on Spoken Language, Phonetics, Writing and Reading. Both Botany and Zoology lessons are presented to our students.
Children’s House
The Children’s House is for students that are 3 – 6 years of age. This beautiful prepared environment is offered to the child so that he may be given the opportunity of developing his activities and intellectual work. Preliminary Exercises are presented to give the students “order” to their movements. This is the aim of muscular education at this age. The children learn that their movements are made towards a definite end, they become an active worker and peaceful. The education of movement is a primary factor in the outward appearance of self-discipline.

The children are truly engaged with their in-depth studies of both US and World Geography. We offer tremendous Mathematics concrete materials for the children to work with in concentration and repetition; this lays the strongest foundation for later abstract studies. The children have a three-hour morning work cycle and the older students have an additional two-hour work cycle in the afternoon. It is here that the children learn to concentrate, a love of learning, and they flourish not only academically but graciously, as well.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
We conduct Parent/Teacher conferences twice a year. The Directress will share your child’s detailed progress report. During the conference you will discuss where your child is currently, cognitively, within the Montessori academic materials. Additionally, we will present further data on which lessons your child has either been recently: introduced, working and/or has mastered. The Directress might share further observations regarding their physical and/or social emotional development, as well.
The school’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30am-6:00pm.
